ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Analyzes cyber threats, security alerts, and suspicious activity on corporate systems or networks

·       Leads forensic efforts as necessary to investigate, contain, or determine the severity of security incidents

·       Investigates evolving risks and identify, implement or request solutions (e.g. blocks) to mitigate them

·       Determines how to prioritize monitoring efforts and apply these criteria to the volume of log data collected across the enterprise

·       Develops a comprehensive plan for monitoring endpoints and entities, using technologies such as SIEM as appropriate

·       Participates in regular maintenance of the enterprise incident response plan

·       Supports efforts to maintain compliance with standards like PCI-DSS and Sarbanes-Oxley

·       Assists with vulnerability scanning/detection and management

·       Assists with internal and external penetration/segmentation testing

·       Performs other duties as assigned by IT management

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

·       Experience with preventive controls like IPS, contemporary firewall technologies, and anti-virus in a large retail or other multi-site setting

·       Experience with detective controls like SIEM and IDS in a large retail or other multi-site setting

·       Experience with local and wide area networking including routing, switching, TCP/IP and associated protocols

·       Security certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, GIAC are regarded favorably

·       Experience with the Windows server and client operating systems

·       Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical audiences
